What about JWs with bleeding ulcers?? Will they be DF'ed??
Having human blood in ones intestines must be cannibalism, if organ transplants were cannibalism.!
the jws make such a big deal about not taking (eating) blood in any form.
that being the case, shouldn't they avoid eating steaks?
even a well- done steak still contains the animals blood.

in numbers 31 we read the following:.
jehovah then told moses:2 take vengeance for the israelites on the midianites.
afterward you will be gathered to your people.3 so moses spoke to the people, saying: equip men from among you for battle against midian and to execute jehovahs vengeance on midian.4 you should send 1,000 of each tribe of all the tribes of israel into the army............ 7 they waged war against midian, just as jehovah had commanded moses, and they killed every male.8 along with the others slain, they killed the kings of midian, namely, evi, rekem, zur, hur, and reba, the five kings of midian.
If I remember it right, I think it was some 30 000 virgins, maybe 32000. Old Moses and his buddies had a lot of hymen/vagina inspection to do!
denial works it horrors on the needless suffering they cause their members.
denial about their god delusion, denial about their faulty policies, denial about children dying in vain over some stupid ban on blood.
if it is one thing the governing body do best it's denial, and denial is a killer in their case and the death toll will keep rising until they can face the facts, instead of pushing them away with denial.. yes they hear but only with annoyance any facts about their biblical interpetation as being wrong and delusional, because the stakes are high; their position as corporation ceos, a better future for their followers, the future of the corporation they are running, i'm surprised that none of them hasn't attempted suicide over the dilemma they are in over this denial thing, surely some must see the 'writing on the wall' so to speak?.
Yep, Frankie, now we are speaking! They know very well.......but people suffering is not important, it's just irrelevant compared to being loyal to the God ther belive they are spokesmen for.
I m thinking about that WT study article about Aron that weren't allowed mourning his sons when they were killed....that must be compartmentalisation,I believe. Arons real feelings were unimportant compared to the punishment.
Just think about JW expecting Armageddon with joy......99,9% of the earths population will be killed and they look forward to this.
this might be my last post.
i've had quite a few things on my mind over the past few years, mainly my belief in god.
i've tried to move on from the jw past but that's really being foolish.
I agree with Steve..time is on your side...but yes, learning normal life can take years, it's an interesting jorney doing it. I left when I was your age...there were som hard years in the beginning, and some hard times now and then.
You seem to be in a band playing the guitar in your pic. That's great...learning "normal life" by activities...engage yourself in different organised activities with worldley people...this helped me a lot!
Hmm, Wayne Dyer.. I read some of his books in the 1980's . It's a good read....as Steven Hassan. Go for it! :)

Hmm, a matter of definition........what could be more cognitive dissonant than believing in something you know is not true?
In case it's not dissanance they have to "suffer" from some kind of dissociative disorder or multi personality disorder.
So, OK...maybe their "cult personae" are believers , but their natural or true personae realizethat it's wrong. Maybe then cognitive dissonance is somewhat related to dissociative syndroms...e g the different personae cult researchers like Steven Hassan is talking obout!
One religion psychologist professor here in Sweden (Owe Wikström) uses the expresion "two floor people" about the cognitive dissonant. At he top floor/upper level they are rational and well funktioning, but in the bottom floor/basement you have a lot of irrational thoughts and fears that cripples them.
In some weay this is related to the splitting in different personae (Hassan) , which I see as some kind of dissociative disorder.
i absolutely love watching the animal channel and just observing the animal kingdom has really brought up some serious questions for any devout anti-gay religions such as born-again christians(bacs) and jws.
some animals such as deers practice lesbianism when there is no male deer around.
i almost fell out of my chair when watching this.
Ohh deer....no, oh dear!
Good idea, but let him make slow and steady steps in his apostate progress.!:-)

As usual, you nailed it, Outlaw! With you mere presence in this thread!
A well functioning person appreciates freedom, has a good sence of humour.......and has the ability to enjoy good things in life, like fried chicken and beer! :D Hmm, and music and women, I hope.
Maybe some of us have tendency to intellectualize or psychologize......................it's interesting....but those things mentioned abouve is probably better in the long run! :)

Yes, that might be the psychological term for it, Frankie! I haven't used that word since the 1980's! :-)
And yes, Vidiot, I agree...an interesting thought......the GB are effected by cognitive dissonance (at lest if they are true believers) but their makes the dissonance copletely different from e g a sister (publisher) with no power att all in the organisation.
Could gognitive dissonance and megalomania be ....."overlapping" psychological phenomena? Or maybe is cognitive dissonance a part of megalomania......a megalomaniac can't be well functioning in his cognitive processes.

In some way denial is more or less a part of the cognitive dissonance.....or at least some pseudo-denial.
In some way the GB might understand and be aware of all suffering, but sice obeying is more important than free thaought and a good life (before the big A) the suffering is considered irrelevant.
They also have some compensation theory......every loyal believer will be compensated in the paradise, therefore...again.....suffering is irrelevant.
Besides....suffering makes the believers more dependent of hope of something better in the future.....not to stop suffering now, such a stop is just for the time, not a permanent stop. So, yes, my idea is that suffering is irrelevant for cult personalities...at least others suffering. It's very cynical.......moraly worse than plain psychological denying.
